Born on 12th March 1969 in Vadodara, Gujrat, she was the fifth daughter of her parents. Falguni’s parents were expecting a boy when she was about to born. This may be one of the reasons for her tomboyish dressing style. Also, her elder's sisters dressed her as a boy while playing with her in childhood. She received her training in folk music from Diwaliben Bhil and was also trained under Bhavdeep Jaipurwale for 5 years.
Her first song was recorded with Alka Yagnik when she was 10 years old for a Gujarati movie. However, she made a mark with ‘Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi. Other popular hits included ‘Maine Payal Hai Chankai’, ‘Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye’, ‘O Piya O Piya’, ‘Sawan Mein’. On her way to success, she has managed to gran MTV Video Music Award for her album ‘Maine Payal Hai Chalkayi.’
