Jay Sean aka Kamaljit Singh Jhooti is a successful British Asian singer and rapper. He is born in a Punjabi descent family in London who found his passion for rapping at the age of 11.

His career started when he signed a contract with 2Point9 in 2003 and recorded his debut song "Dance with You (Nachna Tere Naal)." This song was produced by Rishi Rich & Juggy D. This song became a major hit in the United Kingdom pop charts and peaked at number 12 in the same year.

In fact, this song earned him so much recognition that he got the attention of Virgin Records. What happened next made him the star he is today. Virgin Records signed a major label contract with Jay Sean & he started working on his first full-length album Me Against Myself.

Again, this album was a massive hit & gave two top 10 pop singles in the UK "Eyes On You" and "Stolen". Later he made a significant appearance in the Bollywood movie 'Kya Kool Hai Hum' and his album ended up selling two million copies in India. After that, 'Ride It' - the first single from Jay Sean's second album showed wonders among the audience but missed hitting the UK top 10 pop singles.

Jay Sean's next album 'My Own Way' was released in 2008 & topped at #6 on the UK top 10 pop singles chart. Finally, Jay announced that he signed with Cash Money Records in the US and became the first British Asian to collaborate with an American Recording label. This collaboration released the All or Nothing, which featured his first singles "Down" featuring rapper Lil Wayne.

Not to mention, this song became an instant hit and topped #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. We think that's enough to prove his success as a musician.
