Satinder Sartaaj is well known singer, poet and song writer of Punjab. No doubt he is an multi gifted artist. Satinder is an internationally known artist for Punjabi Sufi music. He also holds a doctorate in Sufi Music. He debuted his film career with a biopic of Maharaja Duleep, in "The Black Prince".
Satinder was born into a Sikh family in the Hoshiarpur Punjab. He went to government elementary school. Satinder started performing when he was in 3rd. He completed his graduation in Music with Honours from Govt College Hoshiarpur. Also did 5-year diploma in classical music from Sangeet Vishard in Jalandhar. After graduation and diploma Satinder did his Masters in Music from Punjab University. After his Masters and M.Phil. Satinder Sartaaj completed his PhD in Sufi poetry. To understand Sufi poetry he also did a certification in Persian (Farsi) language.
Satinder started performing in front of small gathering in Punjab from 1999. He also appeared in Zee TV's Antakshari hosted by Annu Kapoor. On 2 May 2014, Sartaaj performed in the Royal Albert Hall.
He gained fame with his hit song "Sai". Since then his popularity keep uplifting with his shows being held in many countries across the world. Satinder Sartaaj considered as a scholar of Gurmukhi language, Punjabi culture, traditions and folk.
