Sukhwinder Singh is an Indian playback singer who is primarily known for playback singing in Bollywood. He gained fame with the song Chaiya Chaiya for which he has won the Best Male Playback Singer Award at the 1999 Filmfare Awards.
Sukhwinder Singh was born on 18 July 1971 in Amritsar, Punjab. He started performing on stage at the age of just eight. He gave his first stage performance in Saare-Ga-Ma-Pa.
Sukhwinder Singh got his first film career break from the film Karma, in this film he spoke only a few lines. He could not find the tinkle which he wanted in his voice. He then toured England and learned many forms of music. After that, he returned to Mumbai and started working again.
He then lent her voice for the dancing diva Madhuri Dixit's film Khilafat "Aaja Saajan". This song proved to be a superhit. After this, Sukhwinder put the line of back-to-back hit songs in Hindi cinema.
